So i read that Toby Keith is taking heat because he states that Obama talks and acts like he is white….
…and ths is why he is in the running for the presidency! Now honestly in the back of peoples mind they would say that he does talk proper and acts professional but why does this have to be a reflection of white behavior instead of just simply proper behavior in general? I guess one step at a time in the progression of the misconception of certain races. Yes, the majority of black people that are popular in mainstream america are the rappers and athletes you see on TV that lets face it, arent displaying the best behavior being they are in the public image! What are your thoughts?
I agree. Some people believe in the negative stereotypes of blacks. We are individuals. I guess a lot of people didn’t watch the documentary “Black in America”. We are more than rappers, athletes, pimps and drug dealers. Most of the media only show the negative stereotypes of blacks. They love the Flava Flav and I love New York. Most blacks folks are just like whites folks. These images of black are not reality. We don’t see the image of blacks fathers taking care of their children. Blacks going to college. The positive image of blacks only the negative. Blacks are trying to make ends meet. We want to American Dream too. We want our children to have an college education. We want to go on family vacations etc. etc. Who the hell is Toby Keith anyway? Obama has so many haters and they just want their 15 minutes of fame. I feel Obama has to walk a thin line. I also feel he is more scrutinize. He under a microscope. Obama has to be on point his game has to be tight. We know the deal. We gets this from our jobs. When Obama does makes a mistake, the media, public opinion etc are going to make a bigger deal out because he’s first “black:” Democrat persumtive nominee. I have notice if John makes a mistake. Most of the time the media give him a pass. As a black woman and I sure most African Americans and our children have been told from our parents. You have to be twice as good just to be consider equal. As a black person (one person) represent our whole race. I don’t understand that but that how it is. Obama can’t be too white or too black. If Obama did speak slang, the haters will have something negative say about that. Look how the Fox try to make something out of the fist bump. He in a rock and a hard place. He just one man and only human. All the candidates have flaw and no one is person. Why is he the only candidate that has to reject and denounce people of his own race? I have never seen whites candidate do that. ><
